Tring’s men are back in league action this Saturday with both sides looking to build on promising opening performances.
The Men’s 1s travel to Wycombe for a 12:00 push back. It will be a tough test, as Wycombe finished second in the division last season, but Tring will take confidence from their spirited showing against Maidenhead on opening day. Captain Luke Sherring Lucas set the standard with his tireless work rate last week. There is also excitement around the debut of Harvey McGivern, who will be pulling on the Tring shirt for the first time. With improved communication and plenty of energy, the 1s are aiming to cause an upset.
At Tring Sports Centre, the Men’s 2s host Wootton Wanderers 2s at 12:30. The sides met in a pre-season friendly just two weeks ago, when Tring edged a 3–2 win, so another close contest is on the cards. After last weekend’s thrilling 5–5 draw at Leighton Buzzard, the 2s know that keeping things tight at the back will be key, while continuing to capitalise on the attacking threat of Nick Brown, Ian Styles and Chris Barnes.
Two exciting fixtures lie ahead. Whether you are travelling to Wycombe or heading down to Tring Sports Centre, come and support the boys in blue and white.
